The Role
I really enjoyed the internship - I had opportunities to be involved in lots of fun and engaging projects. The culture at Summit ONE is amazing with flexible working and opportunities to work in London and other areas of the UK. Some interns could travel abroad to Europe.
I felt that I was valued by my colleagues, especially my immediate team, who left me with high levels of responsibility.
My team and manager supported me from the outset and throughout with learning and developing my skills. As my skills developed, the more responsibility I was given.
As the internship progressed my workload increased - it was a perfect balance.
I was given high levels of responsibility during my placement - including full control of team finances to managing marketing campaigns from the brief to the result.
My skills have developed significantly during the placement, and training was available when required. Transferable skills aquired will help me in the future with job prospecting.
The Company
The atmosphere was great - the culture is extremely different and includes flexible working hours and team socials which are great for bonding.
The placement was well organised.
Training was available to all placement students as it is to permanent employees of BMW Group. Training ranges from presentation skills to finance (SAP) skills to workshops.
Flexi Time
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Future employment prospects are extremely appealing. The business offers a SpeedUp programme which allows you to come back into the business after graduating.
The Culture
The social scene was great. There are 21 students in NSC and even more in Financial Services which allow for lots of social opportunities. Each business area also have socials throughout the year which is great fun - especially at Christmas!
The cost of living around Farnborough is pretty high. Reading is a good location to live to get student accomodation. Socials/drinks can be expensive.
Reading nightlife is good as it is a student area. There is also a quick transfer to London from Reading (25 mins) which is good for weekends etc.
The business has sports clubs which anyone can join. This includes yoga, running and football.
