The Role
Working in the Product Department was an incredible pleasure! I was able to experience multiple areas of the company.
I felt incredibly valued. I was given full responsibility of a wide variety of tasks.
Constant support was available, not once did I feel like a burden. My manager always had time for me.
After I started to get settled into the role, I became very busy with lots of different tasks. I was very busy, but I never felt overwhelmed.
As stated above, I had my own projects and tasks to run. As long as I completed my work, I was given full reign of how I wanted to work the projects.
I believe my communication, presentation and confidence skills all increased. This will assist me not only in my future studies, but also in my careers after university.
The Company
The general atmosphere was relaxed, but at the same time, focused.
The work placement was very well organised. I received a 3 week handover period with the previous Intern, this was perfect as it allowed me to ask the 'silly questions' and get a small understanding of my role.
I did not receive any official 'training' however people from many departments were willing to explain their roles and the way in which they work within the company.
Subsidised Canteen
Above 25 days holiday
I am looking forward to applying for the Graduate Scheme at Rolls-Royce, however due to the current climate, a permanent role is difficult to 'walk in to'.
The Culture
Yes definately! Myself and another intern created the 'Intern Committee' where we arranged many different social events, and visits to other parts of BMW Group withing England.
The south of the country is a little more expensive than what I was used to. However it was never an issue.
Chichester is a very small city with many bars and pubs, however the nightlife is very little.
Yes, departmental activities were arranged throughout the year.
