The Role
I really enjoyed my year at Pernod Ricard UK. I learned more than I ever imagined, something that will be extremely useful for my final year at uni and future career.
Everyone was really lovely and were so easy to talk to/approach. I have made great friends on my year and will be sad to say goodbye.
My manager really supported me throughout the experience with weekly 1:1's and always ensuring that I could manage my work load.
Most of the time I was quite busy, which was slightly overwhelming at first, however my manager made sure that every week we prioritised tasks so that I didn't feel stressed. I liked the level of workload I have as a I feel that I have a large responsibility within the team.
I had a lot more responsibility that I thought I would have, however this has meant I have learnt so much and I really felt trusted to get on with work and come up with new ideas/contributions for projects.
The year allowed me to look back and see how my previous studies were implemented in a real business environment, this will help me next year too as I will have real life examples to back up any theory.
The Company
Really convivial with really friendly staff. The actual office is amazing and very well decorated.
It was well set up however I do think that there should be slightly more review over all the placement students as we all seemed to have very different workloads.
They allowed us to take any training we wanted which was great. This included an Insights training and Bar School - where you got to learn about all of our brands and basic levels of alcohol production.

There is a grad scheme available, however not in my job area, so therefore it would be difficult to return straight out of university.
The Culture
We had quite a few work events which were really fun and allowed us to meet people from different departments.
I luckily lived at home, however the office is near an expensive area to live in. It's not that cheap to go out in the surrounding area, however it's close to a tube which can take you into London.
For pubs the area is great for after work drinks. However the nightlife is ok, I would advise exploring other areas of London for a night out.
There's lots of sports teams that you can take part in, I joined the gym located on the park which was really good.
