    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my year at Pernod Ricard UK. I learned more than I ever imagined, something that will be extremely useful for my final year at uni and future career.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was really lovely and were so easy to talk to/approach. I have made great friends on my year and will be sad to say goodbye.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager really supported me throughout the experience with weekly 1:1's and always ensuring that I could manage my work load.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most of the time I was quite busy, which was slightly overwhelming at first, however my manager made sure that every week we prioritised tasks so that I didn't feel stressed. I liked the level of workload I have as a I feel that I have a large responsibility within the team.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had a lot more responsibility that I thought I would have, however this has meant I have learnt so much and I really felt trusted to get on with work and come up with new ideas/contributions for projects.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The year allowed me to look back and see how my previous studies were implemented in a real business environment, this will help me next year too as I will have real life examples to back up any theory.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really convivial with really friendly staff. The actual office is amazing and very well decorated.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was well set up however I do think that there should be slightly more review over all the placement students as we all seemed to have very different workloads.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They allowed us to take any training we wanted which was great. This included an Insights training and Bar School - where you got to learn about all of our brands and basic levels of alcohol production.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Above 25 days holiday

    Travel loan

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There is a grad scheme available, however not in my job area, so therefore it would be difficult to return straight out of university.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had quite a few work events which were really fun and allowed us to meet people from different departments.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I luckily lived at home, however the office is near an expensive area to live in. It's not that cheap to go out in the surrounding area, however it's close to a tube which can take you into London.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • For pubs the area is great for after work drinks. However the nightlife is ok, I would advise exploring other areas of London for a night out.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There's lots of sports teams that you can take part in, I joined the gym located on the park which was really good.

    5/5
