About You
The Company
I believe that the firm invested a lot in me. They put on a number of talks, including from all the main practice areas at the firm, which ensured we got a good understanding of the work they all do which can only help in my development. I was also given a good amount of work to do and got to see how different pieces of work should be done which was very good training going forward.
The vacation scheme provided me with a fantastic experience to see what it would be like to work at the firm. I firstly got to see first hand the culture of the firm, which has allowed me to see whether it is the type of environment I would enjoy working in. I also got to speak to numerous people to get a feel for the type of work that they do, and got to even do some trainee type tasks, which allowed me to see whether it is the type of work I would like to be doing in the future.
I feel I got to understand the culture of the firm extremely well. Firstly, being within two different department at the firm and seeing the way different people interact gave me a great insight into the culture. In addition, having talks from trainees to the CEO of the firm, and listening to what they all have to say about the environment of the firm, allowed me to understand even greater what the firm's culture is really like.
It was very helpful. Whilst coming into the vacation scheme, I was already very certain that this was the career path that I wanted, but this experience has only further confirmed that, and has really shown me that this is a firm that I would love to work for in the future.
Everything Else
There were lots of opportunities to network and meet employees. Firstly, sitting within two different departments gave us plenty of opportunities to meet and talk to different people at all levels of the firm. There were also a number of talks, and social events, which allowed us to further network and talk to a number of people.
Very good. Everybody was always very friendly and welcoming. The events themselves were also very well organised and fun to be at.
Yes. In a talk with graduate recruitment, they went through a number of the activities that one can get involved with outside of work. I also had trainee buddies and supervisors who were always a first port of call for me, and gave me further information on some of the activities the firm has to offer.
Absolutely. The vacation scheme was a fantastic opportunity. By its nature, there is quite a bit of pressure surrounding the experience, however, the scheme was incredibly well run and everybody at the firm really did make you feel welcome, which kept stress levels to a minimum and ensured the experience, I believe, was as good as it could have been.
