The Role
A fantastic insight into Barclays GRB that left me with a strong sense of how the company operates and their strong values. The experience left me with the ambition to further experience life at Barclays.
The Graduate recruitment team could not have been any more welcoming, professional and accommodating towards the interns.
There was a strong structure to the programme.
Due to the intensive schedule of the programme, there was always something interesting and different planned.
The Spring Insight is more of an introduction to Barclays than an actual job which carried responsibility. However, the attitude was to be as open as possible about how they operate and their plans for the future.
There were some really valuable workshops set up that were very beneficial in presentation skills and commercial awareness which I am sure will be of great worth going forward in other placements.
The Company
Very professional and welcoming.
Highly organised and a great deal of involvement from Barclays employees at all levels, from the CEO of Barclaycard down to first year grads.
The skills workshops were very helpful and beneficial considering we had to present to members of the graduate recruitment team on the final day.
All being well, I hope I can be successful in going on to secure an internship and hopefully a graduate job.
The Culture
The Spring insight is very short meaning this question does not really apply, however, a networking dinner was arranged which was a great chance to get to know everyone and also speak to current Barclays employees.
London is very expensive, however, the starting salary for the FLDP graduate scheme is very generous.
London is a great city with lots to see and do.
Barclays operate and encourage employees to pursue a variety of interests and this is highlighted through their Corporate Social Responsibility policy which so many employees contribute towards.
