The Role
I have loved every week working here at Disney. I have been a part of so many different Events and been able to take on so many opportunities throughout the year.
The team that sit around me and others across the business have been incredibly friendly, supportive and just great to work alongside. I will definitely keep in touch.
My manager has great experience working alongside an intern, she knows just how to support you and guide you and happily gives you the responsibility to take on your own projects and lead the way.
My placement being in events can be incredibly busy at times and quite stressful in the run up to the event day. Otherwise my workload is well balanced.
A huge amount, being in events I have been given my own events to run independently.
I have taken away a huge amount from my placement this year and i know it will put me in good stead for future employment and when writing my dissertation back at uni for my third year.
The Company
The people I sat around in the office made my whole experience enjoyable and comfortable. Atmosphere was always bubbly but focused.
Very well organised from start to finish. HR could've been quicker with sending contracts and setting you up at the begining of employment but otherwise throughout the year there hasn't been any issues.
Every week I would sit down with my manager to talk about what was upcoming, what I was taking responsibility for and then quarterly we would meet to set and work on my objectives as ways of developing over the year.
Company Parties/Events
There may not be a position available at the moment but by the time I gradudate I hope something may open up as the team expands. I would love to return.
The Culture
There were so many interns in the business so you get to meet and work with a lot of individuals your age and build friednships over the year. So social scene outside work was just as good.
It was in London so very expensive compared to anywhere else within the UK but there was so much to do and see it was all worth it.
Not really any nightlife in Hammersmith besides pubs but outside of Hammersmith there are obviously a much wider range across the city.
Depending on who you socliasied with I think opened up opportuntites to meet up outside of work and get invovled. I am not too sure on whether there were any work related activity groups that ran outside of working hours.
