The Role
It was difficult to begin with but once you got the hang of the role, it became easier and there was always support available to you.
I really felt like I was an integral part of the team. Everyone in my department was welcoming and was there for me if I needed help
The support and advice I received from my line manager and department manager were really important to my development throughout the year
Some days are busier than others but there is little time to waste, especially because of the high stress production environment. As you are actually working in a position in the company.
I was working in an actual position in the company and so I had equal responsibilities with experienced colleagues in my department.
The placement really improved my people skills, such as my communication and my confidence in things like public speaking.
The Company
As working in sequence at a tier 1 supplier to OEMs, people are always busy, either fixing things as they go wrong or working to stop persisting issues altogether.
As mentioned it was an actual position in a manufacturing plant so it was very well organised.
Faurecia are very keen to improve the skills of people that they work with.
National Travel
As Faurecia are a worldwide company the future employment opportunities are incredible and there is a scheme for everyone.
The Culture
All of the other students, as well as my colleagues were keen to do activities outside of work.
Cost of living in Fradley (Lichfield) was average
The nightlife in Fradley (Lichfield) is restricted to mostly pubs and restaurants, but it's less than a fiver to go into Birmingham.
Any activities outside of work were organised with students/colleagues,l
