The Role
Job was interesting but slow at first.
Whilst I was given responsibility I was seen as the student, so was given a lot of the work no one waned to do at times.
Manager and rest of the department were always helpful and available when needed.
Although this varied on average I was quite busy.
Some of the tooling projects undertaken were challenging and involved a lot of hard work to reach the deadline.
The CAD and excel skills developed will be transferable to my degree.
The Company
The team I was working in got on with one another well creating a good environment.
At the start it was unclear at what was required however this improved throughout the year as I began to understand my role more.
Whilst I have taken part in in-plant training activities I haven't been sent on any training courses specifically.
Whilst I don't think I want to work within manufacturing I would like to work on more of the design side of the process.
The Culture
Yes, living near to FIS the other manufacturing plant in Fradley there are lot of students living near to one another.
Where I lived - Lichfield is quite an expensive area and there isn't a lot to do, so a lot of money was spent traveling away on the weekends.
Lichfield has good pubs but not very good nightlife, birmingham isn't far away but is a bit more effort to go to.
Not from the company itself, but there are local leisure centres and gyms around.
