The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement, I have learnt some amazing things during the time I have been here.
I feel extremely lucky to have been able to work alongside the people I have. They have all been extremely friendly and welcoming from the beginning. I was given the opportunity to do all the work my colleagues did and was always pushed to do my best.
My management has always been extremely supportive, regularly checking I am OK and that I am making the right progress. I have been giving amazing guidance through constructive criticism and advise on how to do certain jobs alternatively to be more efficient.
We was extremely busy daily but had a good balance on how to keep our work flow stress free, ensuring all work was completed in a priority and date order.
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility, I felt like a valued member of the team as I was doing the same work as others.
The Company
Whilst generally the office was quiet, everyone was friendly and extremely approachable.
I found the internship to be very well organised I had regular meetings with my manager to ensure I was OK and to address any concerns or queries I had. We would set up targets I would need to meet so I was making correct progress during my internship.
I would love to continue my career with Hays. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with them and have met people who I continuously learn from.
The Culture
There was a lovely social scene with my colleagues, we regularly went out to socialise after work together and spent time getting to know one another outside the office made us friends as well as colleagues.
Although I do not live in the city, the cost to socialise can vary depending on where you go. Some places are more expensive than others but you can find places for reasonable costs.
The night life was very enjoyable near the office although sometimes expensive. It is always busy so you have the opportunity to meet new people.
There was always opportunities to get involved in various different activities. My colleagues would invite me to socialise with them or attend sporting activities etc on a regular basis.
