The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Volkswagen Group, It was rather intimidating at first but everyone was very friendly, welcoming and supportive.
From day one your treated like any other employee, working on projects colleagues rely on your delivery and are appreciative when you deliver on time.
My line manager and other colleagues are always there to offer advice and guidance, some of the advice I've been given has been the most valuable asset I'll take away from this placement year.
The workload progressively built and now the days fly by.
I have been give loads of responsibility, I'm trusted like an other employee to complete my job. I've been given the opportunity to present to multiple directors and make day to day project decisions.
Training is in no short supply at VWG, I've received several internal courses and have taken PRINCE 2 Practitioner and AGILE PM Practitioner qualifications
The Company
Friendly, warm, and supportive
Overall it was fairly good,, there was a familiarisation day to meet the other placement students before joining and a number of HR induction days to get up to speed.
Massively, very pleased about how much VWG were willing to invest in my personal development.
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
Future prospects at VWG are very appealing, jobs pay well with good benefits and staff all seem satisfied in their roles.
The Culture
All fellow placement students got on well and I will definitely be staying in contact with them after this year.
Central Milton Keynes can be quite expensive, but there are pockets where accommodation and shopping is cheaper
This is the biggest downside with the placement, nightlife in Milton Keynes is dire.
Plenty of sporting teams to join, and our undergraduate cohort have all mingled well.
