The Role
The placement at Sony was very enjoyable and exciting from both a work perspective and the work related events.
I never felt as if i was an 'intern' at any point during my placement. I was fully integrated into my team and my work was valued allowing me to feel both comfortable and valued in my team.
The support and guidance was great throughout my placement from all members in my team, and other colleagues that I worked with. They are always there to spare a moment if I needed it.
My day was never dull as I always had a task to get on with, although some periods were less busy than others, there was always something to get on with!
My manager gave me a lot of responsibility tasking me with my own projects and handling my own events. I was also given the freedom to take on any responsibility that I wished to undertake which showed his trust in me.
I have acquired a lot of skills from my placement, and developed skills which will aid me in my final year at University and in my future career.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was much more relaxed than i imagined before I began my placement! I was under the impression that It would be very serious and "corporate", however the laid back atmosphere was what surprised me most and was key in allowing all colleagues to feel comfortable and work effectively, including myself. There was a nice sociable feel to the office where one can feel comfortable in approaching other colleagues at any time whether it was to discuss work or to have a chat.
I think the internship was set up well, and the process improved as the year went on. The addition of the 'intern days' that we had throughout the year was fun and informative as we got exposed to different functions of the Sony business. The internship was structured in a way to provide support, and to aid us in our development.
I believe that my work and my function in the team was valued and appreciated and time was invested in me to help me develop and acquire necessary skills for the business world. I have developed both in the work place and personally a great deal thanks to the placement and that's down to my colleagues who supported me throughout the year and invested their time and effort to help me improve.

I will definitely be looking at Sony in the future as a potential employers, and I have plans to apply for the graduate scheme that they offer. Other functions of the business, such as Sony Pictures and Sony Music also appeal to me as a possible future employment prospect.
The Culture
There was a good vibe amongst all the other interns at Sony, and it was helped by the fact that we had 'intern days' which allowed us to interact with each other away from the work place.
