The Role
It was a good insight into the company and a great team to work with
As it is an internship I am here to learn, asking lots of questions and taking on new roles means that you're treated as a pupil rather than a peer. Which is not a problem.
Great guidance
Many people were busy in the office but I kept myself busy by asking for work
Lots of solo projects
Has allowed me to link degree courses to real life situations
The Company
lots of activities inside and outside of office (and lots of cake). So overall the atmosphere was good. There was lots of talk about work and about other things outside of work such as the lions games. This gave the office a good feel and balance of both professional and friendly.
Good set up as there was a booklet with a list of things to complete by the first day, the first week and by the last week. There was also a schedule / timetable that gave my weeks some structure with calls that were linked to presentations being delivered live from London.
I got taught new skills and how to work computer programs. When completing work i was given the chance to go through the positives and negatives with a director who took the time to show me what I should be doing to improve my work. The simple skills such as answering calls or addressing emails correctly was slightly adjusted to the companies usual standards.
Company Parties/Events
good prospects
The Culture
I was the only person on the summer scheme at my location and as such not able to comment on the social scene. However the team did take me out for many drinks, once when stand up paddle boarding another after five aside and one time when we went out to the pub on the Friday. I don't feel like I missed out nbot having other graduates around as I was treated as part of the team almost immediately.
Free accommodation through friend
Didn't experience night life as such as at my location there wasn't many graduates or people my age. and as such not able to comment on the nightlife. However the team did take me out for many drinks, and i have been out in Bristol before and I can confirm that it is a good night out for young people
Yes, lots of sport and afternoons out. within my first week I was offered to take part in stand up paddle boarding and touch rugby. The next week it was softball and five aside and even thought I only did 2 of these there were good opportunities. On top of this we went to the pub for a pint on a Friday evening
