The Role
My placement, over the past 13 months has been very enjoyable. The placement has given me the opportunity to work alongside a global leadership team, giving me insight into the business world beyond the UK, which directly relates to my degree. The role itself has been very flexible which has allowed me to shape the role to my personal preference and area of interest.
Valued and part of the team.
The entire team was very supportive and offers guidance when required. Much of the support is focused on personal development within the role and the future beyond University. Informal guidance is always accessible as the team want you to learn and develop over the year as you become a valuable resource to assist the business.
Each day was often varied in terms of workload. Some days I would be extremely busy with daily tasks, ad hoc requests and urgent deadlines and other days would be less busy. There was always something to be doing, whether this be personal learning or helping other members of the team.
Supporting a global leadership team offers great responsibility and permits interaction with many senior colleagues. Over time I was given greater responsibility as I become competent in my role. The sooner I learned the more opportunity I was given.
The interpersonal skills will assist me with my final year at University and my professional life. My placement has provided me with a strong foundation to enter the working world beyond graduation and has also given me with a vast network of professionals to sought guidance from.
The Company
Calm and quite with a friendly atmosphere
The first two weeks are very structured with numerous on-boarding sessions. Beyond the first month you are very much doing your role and involved with the team.
Limited formal training was offered. Majority of the role is taught by observation learning. The firm invests heavily in corporate events and its people which is great to be a part of.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I would like to return to the company although limited opportunities are available which are highly competitive.
The Culture
Great intern community with over 40 interns.
London pricing.
London nightlife was great.
Opportunities to play football each week.
