The Role
Very enjoyable, took on lots of responsibility and gained valuable skills for the future.
I felt very valued by the team, and hence I was often handed over tasks that was their responsibility.
I was given sufficient support and guidance regarding all of my workload, although I set any goals and my progress was not monitored.
I was very buys during month end reporting, although during the 'mid month' period the workload dropped off significantly.
I was given lots of responsibility from the outset with lots of my reports being used by the Executive Committee.
My skillset developed greatly throughout the year, more specifically my analytical and organization skills improve dramatically.
The Company
Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All employees are willing to help and provide support if needed.
In general the placement was set up very well, with opportunities to expand the knowledge of the business and explore other functions.
Personally, most of my development came through my work. HR also provided CV advice and support for my future applications.
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
There are lots of great graduate opportunities, although personally, I wish to pursuit a different career path.
The Culture
There was a good social scene between many of the interns, although some of them chose to travel home at the weekend which made it difficult to socialize outside of work.
Our salary covered living costs with enough disposable income to socialize.
The local Nightlife was not great, although Brighton was 40mins on the train which has a great Nightlife.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved with volunteering, although there are not that many social events for the International Departments.
