The Role
Microsoft is a fantastic place to work. It is massive company with great scope to get involved in many different things, especially as an intern. It is also a company that values is employees.
I was treated like an employee, not an "intern".
My manager was a fantastic support and was always on hand to help out if needed. I was also fortunate to have mentors across the business, who were also able to offer guidance.
I was always busy, and if I'm honest, often did not have enough time to do everything. However to me this was a good thing and meant I had more to get involved in.
I would never have thought I would have been given the level of responsibility I was. Being able to launch products was fantastic!
I learnt so much, and so much more than I was even expecting; from IT knowledge to marketing knowledge. It defiantly has helped shape me going forward.
The Company
People were always friendly and never let their busy workloads get to much. I was fortunate enough to work in a very positive team atmosphere.
Overall the placement was structured well. However it did take time for my roles and responsibilities to be finalised.
If I expressed an interest in learning something new, my manager always supported this. I was always encouraged to learn more.

Working from home
It would be fantastic to work for Microsoft again.
The Culture
There was over 80 interns. Most interns lived with other interns. This combination meant that from day 1 a ready made friendship group was developed. However the area itself was not very vibrant.
It was standard southern prices.
Very Poor.
From sports clubs and societies, there was always something to be involved with.
