    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Amazing! I highly recommend moving away to complete the vacation programme as it gives you so much independence too.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was really friendly and really fun to be around (despite what you may hear about accountants)! All interns were invited and welcomed to join in any after work activities.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had regular meetings to ensure I was comfortable and being treated well as well as getting the most from my experience.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was extremely busy most days but it was great to be occupied and valued by colleagues and clients.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given loads of responsibility but don't let this put you off as there was always someone close who was more than happy to help with questions or problems.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned how to do many things from eletronic audit to developing client relationships which I will carry with me throughout my life.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was ery professional in the office but that doesn't mean that it was a strict and unfriendly atmosphere.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was very well organised from the induction through to the final meeting with my councillor. The only problem I would raise is the time that it has taken to arrange partner interviews at the end of the placement.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • KPMG invested tonnes of time in training and developing as they hope that we will be the future employees of their company which means that it is in their best interest to spend time on us.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I am still awaiting my partner interview but am very hopeful for a job with them in the future. I would be very happy and extremely grateful but even if I don't it was still an invaluable experience!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I spent a great deal of time with my fellow interns and with colleagues within the company, everyone was really friendly.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As I moved away and the vacation prgramme only lasted 8 weeks, this increased the cost of living but didn't dishearten me or ruin my experience in the slightest.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I loved Cardiff!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was alaways something going on and there wasn't a weekend where I didn't have plans of some sort.

    5/5
