About You
The insight was thoroughly enjoyable. I discovered a lot more about KPMG throughout the week than I had ever expected to. I also understood more about the value of technology within a firm and how KPMG can provide invaluable advice to other firms becoming more modern.
One of the days involved a work shadowing day. This meant I got to speak to a lot of the employees in the financial modelling team at KPMG, who made me feel very welcome and as though any work in the team was invaluable. It seemed as though there was a very flat hierarchy and so everyone's work was very appreciated.
We were guided during the whole process by the recruitment team, and were showed around the building and told exactly how KPMG was structured. We were also given workshops on communication and our "personal brand", which will be extremely useful going forward.
We did a business challenge which involved finding ways to improve a company's social media campaign. We also did workshops on communication, networking and personal skills. The interview session was also interesting, as was meeting all the different employees from KPMG.
The Company
The insight was very well structured and we all knew from the start of the week what was happening and what we were aiming to achieve.
The atmosphere was excellent throughout. All the other girls on the program were extremely friendly and fun. The employees whom I spoke to were all so kind and willing to take a break from their busy schedule to give me insight into their job, for which I am very thankful.
The company invested a lot of time and skill into us, bringing various people from the firm to speak to us. They also organised for us to go to a school and make a presentation on communication to adults.
It was very insightful and I especially understood how much of a focus there is on work-life balance, which is excellent.
The culture is fantastic and friendly and positive. They are investing in technology a lot as well which means that department will grow, and all employees are very forward-thinking and innovative.
This has helped me decide that I definitely want to do something technology-related in the future.
Everything Else
Yes there were many networking opportunities, especially during the shadowing day.
They were fantastic.
Yes there are so many opportunities to get involved in various things, such as sports teams, music and art societies and supportive networks.
Yes completely.
