About You
It was really interesting and we did lots of different activities throughout the week, and met lots of really nice people.
Everyone made a big effort to make us feel welcome and valuable to the company. They even paid us for the week.
We received a huge amount of guidance for every part of the week, and we were really encouraged to ask lots of questions.
We received a huge amount of information about a career within the technology department at KPMG, and how to succeed within this field.
The Company
Really well structured, we had different activities to do every day, with an assessment on the Thursday and a corporate responsibilty activity on the Friday.
The atmosphere was really good, everyone at KPMG was really friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic.
We had a personal brand session, as well as lots of advice on how to succeed in interviews. We also gained some skills in using software such as Qlik.
They did a really good job of giving a rounded view of the work that would be done in a graduate role, in particular with work shadowing on the Wednesday.
We had a good insight into the company culture by meeting lots of different people with varying levels of authority, and with the work shadowing.
It has made me really consider a career within the technology department of KPMG, and given me an insight on how to pursue this via the second year summer placement and graduate scheme.
Everything Else
We were paid for our time, reimbursed travel expenses and given a lunch allowance which included really nice, hot meals every day.
We learnt some valuable skills about networking and its importance and were exposed to lots of different people from throughout the firm, including some directors.
They organised for all of the people on the insight week to go bowling together as a social event on the Thursday night.
People talked to us about various sports teams within KPMG that you can join, such as netball and cricket.
Yes I would, it was really insightful, and gives you a great opportunity to interview for the second year summer placement and then get onto the grad scheme, so it's a great way to get into the company early on.
