The Role
A very enjoyable experience. Learned a lot about Physics and gained 14 months of experience working in a very good laboratory.
Was treated with extreme respect, also awarded the CLF Individual Excellence Award.
Was provided with an excellent library and lots of help with understanding the underlying Physics.
Was very busy at times and put in quite a few hours of overtime.
Although not given full access, was still leading quite a few projects involving complicated diagnostics development.
Meeting future supervisors and gaining lab experience will almost certainly grant me a position in a PhD.
The Company
Rather laid back but yet efficient.
Good, the personal development was set up to train me in just right pace.
General level of H&S training.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
A very evolving and high level laboratory with a very appealing job in the science world.
The Culture
Many placement student nights out and lunch breaks.
The rent was quite high, however, going out wasn't much more expensive than elsewhere in the UK.
Centre of Oxford is very lively and fun during term time.
Quite a few, not many provided by the company though.
