The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my year at Pfizer. Not only did I learn a lot about the department i worked in, but also got an insight into many other areas of the business. Weekly talks were organised from different business sectors which gave me contacts to follow up with afterwards in areas that interested me. The company are keen to develop you as a person, not only as a worker.
I was given increasingly important roles and responsibilities and never felt like 'an intern' doing meaningless jobs
Dependeded on the day but there was always something to do and if not, plenty of people to ask for more work
We had bi-weekly communication sessions teaching us how to present, how to perform well in video interviews, persuasion and influencing skills, body language etc
The Company
quite a serious atmosphere most of the time but the large number of interns helped to soften that. Regulatory is quite different to the rest of the company as many other business units have a lot more of a 'team spirit' and do events such as rounders at lunchtime together and things outside of work.
Very well organised from the interview day and throughout. The assessment centre was a great experience, really well organised and we felt very looked after and valued.
Paid for trips to career days and visits to labs and manufacturing sites. Also bi-weekly sessions to improve communication skills and personal development
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Very appealing but there is no grad scheme which makes it difficult. Certainly hope to come back to the company in the future (but maybe start of in a smaller company first). The culture at Pfizer is amazing and that's really important in a place of work
The Culture
Fellow placement students had a great social scene. With the rest of the department it was non-existent (in regulatory), although i know this is different for other business units
Quite an expensive place to live (Surrey) and socialising would often be in London
Nightlife is lacking so often would travel to London
We did a volunteering day and there are sports clubs to get involved with
