About You
Insightful, enjoyable. Partners and associates were candid and honest - fantastic introduction to law.
Strongly valued - people were always willing to give up their time to explain things. Only there for a week, so it was always going to be a challenge to feel familiar in the surroundings.
Plenty of support given in terms of the next steps in a law career. Graduate recruitment were honest and open about the chances of receiving a TC, and also in how best to approach the interview/application.
Not sure what I learned would help with my degree (Maths). Still a very valuable insight into a profession I had not given serious thought to prior to the week.
The Company
Perfect! Very well organised. Must have been difficult to move 30 people around on a timetable, but essentially done smoothly. Sometimes partners would overrun in their talks, but was to be expected.
Fun, challenging, friendly. People were there to learn and ask questions and this inquisitive attitude was carried by all on the scheme.
allowing us to apply for TC in first year is unique among top firms. Seriously invested in grad recruitment.
talks with current trainees/associates - along with a full day of work shadowing was the best way to find out how the firm worked within a week.
Had talks from the managing partner right down to support lawyers. All seemed to hold the same professional values.
Clear and honest. The whole path was laid out - up to us to take it!
Everything Else
There is a bursary for accommodation, which I did not qualify for. They also only refund transport on one day. However, it is 30 strong, and I can understand why they did not offer accommodation/transport costs for everyone, every day.
Yes, all the time!
Fun, casual, inclusive.
Not directly, but you there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
