About You
I greatly enjoyed the insight - it was obvious that the Lloyds staff had worked hard to make the week worthwhile. It gave a really good overview of many different branches of the company, with the opportunity to meet some senior company staff
They seemed genuinely interested in the Insight Week participants and what our future plans were. Everyone was very welcoming and were happy to help with any questions or queries - they assigned us mentors for the week which I really enjoyed.
As I mentioned, they gave us mentors for the week, who helped particularly with presentation skills and in depth information about working for Lloyds and the graduate scheme. People were happy to talk about how best to apply for the graduate scheme and what the company culture is like.
I believe the help received on presentation skills will be invaluable in the future, as well as the "Banking 101" session which gave an overall view on how a bank operates as an organisation, which included basic information and allowed for lots of questions to be asked about how Lloyds functions
The Company
It was very well structured - there was a timetable given to us at the beginning of the week with slots for working on presentations, and learning from many different branches of the organisation - from Human Resources to Trading.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere - it was very welcoming and friendly. People were very happy to help, or if they didn't have time they ensured someone else helped us instead. The other participants of the Insight were lovely, and were a very varied group which was enjoyable to be a part of.
The company has been happy to give lots of information about the graduate scheme, and there were some great networking opportunities like a breakfast meeting with senior staff and end of quarter meetings with whole departments. They were also open to offering more work experience at a later date.
I think that the Insight gave a realistic overview of what a full time role would be like - each department that gave a session seemed honest and open to questions about their work life.
There was lots of talk about the company culture - it seemed like a lovely place to work. As we saw so many different departments, we were able to see the common values that existed throughout the company.
It was incredibly useful - i had very little idea previously on which departments would suit me, or how the company structure worked. I also learnt a lot about the graduate scheme and summer programme.
Everything Else
Travel was reimbursed, up to a reasonable amount.
Yes! This was one of the best elements of the placement - we had exposure to all types of company departments, including attending end of quarter meetings and a diversity and inclusion breakfast networking event.
Excellent
Yes - there was talk of sporting activities, charity work and much more that the employees get involved in outside of their normal work
Absolutely - I have recommended it to several friends interested in this field
