The Role
A fantastic opportunity and you are treated just the same as the graduates, even down to sitting some of the professional exams!
Amazing atmosphere in the office and the social events helped you to get to know your colleagues much better, somethat that was invaluable on away jobs.
Due to the nature of audit all of my work was reviewed and all of my in-charges were approachable and friendly. If ever I was stuck I new I could ask anyone in the office, from my peers to the senior managers, for assistance.
The hours can be demanding, particularly in busy season. This has given me better stamina in my approach to university work.
Plenty of responsibility yet I was always supervised sufficiently.
Although the technical content is unrelated to my degree (Maths) all the organisational and interpersonal skills will be very useful in both my university life and my future career.
The Company
You might think that a firm of accountants would be boring but auditors are different. There was akways something to get involved in, be it paintballing, a sports day or just a quiet drink.
There were a couple of glitches with my ICAS enrollment (I was enrolled for exams I was not sitting) but these were sorted quickly. With regards to starting, as I was with all the graduates, there were no issues.
I was put through the first set of my professional exams, I went on all the training courses the other first years did and I always received the help and support in the office that I needed.
Subsidised Canteen

Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a job to return to the graduate scheme, starting where I left off, once I graduate.
The Culture
I lived with two other first years and the year group is sized between 5 and 10 in my office so there is always someone to go out with.
Aberdeen is the second most expensive city in the UK. We still managed to go out all the time though!
Aberdeen nightlife is average. I think it's the people you are with that make it.
5-a-side football, a CSR fundraising day.
