The Role
It is an enjoyable placement but is hard work. It is not for someone who wants a normal 9-5 role
The team are very welcoming and always keen to help you settle in. The team are keen to make the placement as valuable an experience as possible.
It depends on who you get as a line manager - a key thing to do is set out what you want from them.
It is a busy role on site.
If you ask for it you will be given responsibilities on projects.
The training available is amazing - there are a wide range of training courses that you can attend and management are keen for you to progress. The skills I have learnt on placement will definitely help me in final year and graduate schemes.
The Company
Depends on the project. Most site offices are fun. The office are more corporate and serious.
There is a set placement programme which is very well organised
I have had the opportunity to attend a wide range of courses.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
They are appealing if you are looking to work in London. Regionally there are limited opportunities
The Culture
If you are London based yes. Regionally no.
I worked away and was paid benefits so did not have any living costs to pay for.
There are sports teams within the organisations - although I did not get involved with them
