    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight week was a really great way to find out more about Danone. It's generally quite relaxed with a lot of fun activities and informative talks. The office and site are amazing and it's great to see that, it makes lunch a lot more exciting as well. The only stressful part is the presentation where we had to work quite late but I believe this was intended.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I found out a lot about the business and our entire week was planned and packed full of activities and talks. We had talks from a lot of important people in the business and this type of insight is rare for a campus brand manager/ambassador role. The investment that they make into you for such a small role made me feel very valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The insight was well planned; we were given a timetable for the entire week when we arrived. I felt like I received a lot of support from different people during the insight, including the managers, placement student and graduates. The graduates in particular I found very helpful to ask questions especially for the presentation and about the company as a whole.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The insight is a great way to prepare for further interviews as the presentation is similar to one you would have to do at an assessment centre, as is the group work. I felt that the knowledge we gained about the company and the graduate schemes was very helpful for the campus brand manager role, so that we could talk with confidence on campus.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Really well structured, we were given a timetable when we arrived with every hour planned out. There was a lot of variety in the days and I feel that we learned a lot about the company that helped with the campus brand manager role. I can't really remember being left to do nothing for long periods of time, so out time was filled well.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was great, it was really great to meet the other brand managers and share ideas about what we thought would work well at our University's. The office was also great and although hard working had a nice informal and friendly vibe. I thought that experiencing the atmosphere was really great for us to be able to explain to students interested in applying for jobs there.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt like the company invested a lot in us, especially for such a small role. They paid for a weeks stay in a hotel, 3 meals a day and paid for us to do the insights test. Aside from that, various employees invested time in us to tell us about the company and assessed our end of the week presentation.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I think it was really helpful especially being able to experience the culture first hand. The graduates were also really helpful and I think it was great to be able to talk to them alone and find out what they really think about the business. I do however think that we may have been led to believe that the culture is more laid back then it is and we all found the presentation and comments to be a bit of a shock after such a relaxed week.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Same as above: I think it was really helpful especially being able to experience the culture first hand. The graduates were also really helpful and I think it was great to be able to talk to them alone and find out what they really think about the business. I do however think that we may have been led to believe that the culture is more laid back then it is and we all found the presentation and comments to be a bit of a shock after such a relaxed week.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • As it was only an insight it was quite limited as it was only for a short amount of time. I already have FMCG experience so for someone who had not perhaps done a placement year then this could have been very useful for them. However as it is an insight and not actual work experience I think it would be difficult to help decide on a future career path. Although it does help make a decision about whether you would apply to that company in particular.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • The entire experience is paid for by the company, you stay for a week in a hotel with all your meals paid for or reimbursed and travel is reimbursed after. It should be noted that at no point are you paid with actual money for the campus brand manager role. You are given a red letter day gift card for the role.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • You do meet quite a few people especially graduates and there is a lunch with some of the managers however, I can't remember an actual networking event, although we were told we could go and talk to people around the office if we wanted to however most felt that we would be interrupting them.

    3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • similar to above answer. Good although limited.

    3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I'm assuming that there are various clubs and the site is amazing, there's a different activity each day in the business park. The week we were there we saw tennis, football and rock climbing.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes I think it's a great way to find out more about Danone, about FMCG and to get an idea of an assessment centre exercise.
