    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I very much enjoyed the vacation scheme at Taylor Wessing. The exposure to a wide range of interesting work was particularly impressive, and this provided a fantastic insight into the day-to-day life of trainees and solicitors at the firm.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everybody at the firm made an effort to ensure that the vacation scheme students felt welcome. Trainees, associates, partners were always willing to answer questions about work and to discuss life at the firm.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The level of guidance and support received was excellent. Vac schemers have an appraisal with their supervisor at the end of each week, which was a great opportunity to gain feedback and address areas for improvement.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have been able to develop on the scheme will prove invaluable in the future. The experience has helped me to confirm that a career as a solicitor is right for me, and the opportunity to undertake actual work enabled me to develop the skills expected of a trainee at a leading international law firm.

    The Company

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was very welcoming and collaborative. The firm actively encourages vacation scheme students to meet with fee earners and to ask plenty of questions.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The appraisal process provided a very good opportunity to receive feedback. Additionally, vac schemers undertake a group project, which was useful in terms of developing team-working and presentation skills.
