About You
I had an amazing time on the Clifford Chance Vacation Scheme! Everything was so well organised and designed so we'd get a chance to experience every aspect of the firm and meet people at all levels. The work was genuinely very interesting and everyone was very welcoming. Also, the 'work hard, play hard' culture came across very well. Graduate recruitment did an amazing job at showing us a great time out of the office and even took us on a super residential week away to a manor house with lots of fun activities and chances to meet more people from the firm and ask any questions in an informal environment!
I felt very valued. Everyone was very welcoming and nobody treated you like you were 'just a vacation schemer'. For example, one of the partners I was working with took forty minutes out of her day to explain what she was working on and how my work would assist her!
There was great support throughout the insight. Everyone got to know graduate recruitment through pre-scheme events and check up calls so you felt you could ask them anything! Also all the vacation schemers were given a vacation buddy (for the whole scheme) and department buddies (as well as supervisors) to be a port of call for any support or advice needed.
I think some of the activities in the scheme, such as the 'how to present with confidence' talk and 'beyond your training contract' gave me great skills and insights which I could use in pursuit of a legal career. Also getting to work alongside associates, trainees and partners of the firm was great for showing me what a corporate work culture is like and what is expected from employees!
The Company
The scheme was extremely well structured. Never a dull moment!
Very friendly and welcoming. All the vacation schemers got along really well and I think the weekend away especially helped to form real friendships. Graduate recruitment and everyone else in Clifford Chance couldn't have been more welcoming!
I think we really were invested in! There were constant activities, meals out events and tons of personalised merchandise!
I was really good! We met people at all levels within the firm - trainees, associates, senior associates and partners and could ask them any questions about what their role in the company was like!
Because we met so many people from all levels I think we got a great insight into the company culture!
I think it was really useful! As you get a training contract at the end of your two weeks you are definitely thinking about your future career during the time you are there!
Everything Else
Anything that should be reimbursed was.
Yes! Almost everyday we had networking breakfasts and talks introducing us to different departments of the firm!
Yes, we were given lots of opportunities to ask questions about life outside work and went out with people from the firm on nights out organised by graduate recruitment!
Yes, absolutely!
