  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed my time at DLA Piper - great quality of work, with a great quality of people. Everybody was friendly, helpful, and keen to share their enthusiasm for the firm.

  • Associates and trainees often commented how useful my contributions had been. It was a great feeling to be valued.

  • I was given a lot of scope for independent work and research, but this was by no means a bad thing - someone would always be on hand if I needed assistance.

  • Very clear schedule, very well thought-through.

  • Very good atmosphere - friendly bunch of people, felt like I fit in.

  • Hugely. I was surprised just how much, time, effort, and money went into making this vacation scheme a success.

  • Very much so. I saw work in progress at all levels of operation, and in two different practice areas.

  • I felt like everybody at DLA made a big effort to include me as part of the team, and the kind of culture was obvious from the start.

  • Very much so. I'll be delighted to join DLA Piper as a trainee in 2019.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • All reasonable expenses were reimbursed, apart from in the second and third weeks, were I supported myself.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • All the time - good social events planned, providing the ideal opportunity to network with a wide variety of people.

  • Good.

  • I found out about some sports teams, and a weekly office choir.
