    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My job really required a lot of agility and quick adaptability. Sometimes the volume of work was really high but I really enjoyed juggling numerous projects at the same time.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I really enjoyed working in my office as it was full of people coming from vairous business lines, working on different projects. It was always very easy to solve even the hardest problems just by talking to people sitting next to me. For a period of time I also had a fantastic view of Manchester from the 21st floor of CIS Tower.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I would say that there was a clear structure which still allowed me to explore various opportunities and develop new skills. The support I received was more than sufficient and I never felt like I was tackling problems on my own.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were not that many paid training events. However, I have really made best use of the online training available to me. I have recieved a few badges and followed courses for free that allowed me what IBM was doing and what the IT sector is about.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I think that IBM is entering exciting time when the growth imperatives are on the rise with more and more clients investing in IBM cognitive solutions. It is an exciting time to apply for a job within the firm.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I did not have the biggest crowd around as I was based in Manchester with only around 10 other interns in the area. However, this was perfect for me as I enjoyed the quiet weekends especially that it allowed me to travel through the UK and explore the new places. Also I had a chance to learn a few things about myself and I will have enough energy to come back to university and enjoy the social life.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was fantastic. I found a great accommodation and great places to eat in. Manchester was truly an excellent choice.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I am not the biggest fan of the nightlife in the UK due to the queues and high entry prices. However, Manchester had the best nightlife scene that I have experienced so far. Really a city worth visiting.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were quite a few opportunities with numerous givebacks being advertised in different parts of the UK that I truly enjoyed.
