About You
I found the insight week very enjoyable because it was a great atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The tasks were very helpful in terms of getting a flavour of the type of work I would do if I was to go into that sector of the company. The tasks kept me engaged and I enjoyed developing my leadership in the project and my problem solving skills. In particular, I found that the students who had joined the scheme helped me understand life if I was to join the company.
All of the time. I felt as though I was valued and almost felt a part of the company already. When I expressed my interest into the company I was pleased that Laxmi took the time to speak to me and give me some guidance.
A lot! The support system was incredible. During the tasks, if we didn't understand or it was difficult we did get guidance to point us in the right direction and I really appreciate the time people took out of their busy schedules to lead sessions and create an engaging task.
On the final day, we learnt about interview skills and how to prepare for an interview which I thought was very helpful for any job. Also my leadership skills were developed on day 3/4 when I was creative thinker and had to come up with an idea to convey our message and ideas to the panel in a imaginative and creative respect. Listening skill were improved and body language and how to present yourself. In particular I enjoyed the talk on day 2.
The Company
It was organised and well structured. There were plenty of opportunities to ask questions about the job/career and I thought that well thought out and very beneficial.
There was a good atmosphere and team spirit among the other students as well as staff and it was lovely to see everyone interacting. Many of the starters were great because it brought everyone together and allowed people to speak and get to know one another
I was most certainly about to development on this insight week and learn some new things about myself and especially presenting the project. I was petrified to go up to the front and present however I managed to do it and afterwards was pleasantly surprised. The work experience has allowed me to improve certain qualities and traits such as confidence.
Not that much, the company didn't go into depth about the tasks I would do on a day-to-day basis or highlight specific job descriptions or characteristics which would have perhaps been useful. I would have liked to have been given the change to see which sector I would prefer. However, Although we do tasks I feel like we could have had a boarder understanding.
Deloitte are values are : strong commitment and integrity, strength from cultural diversity which were clearly shown throughout the work. The company atmosphere and values are upheld and it is a great environment to work in. The staff were extremely friendly and made me feel at easy. I appreciated the time and effort into planning these tasks and the support they gave us. It reflected the support within the company.
It was extremely valuable as I am now looking to be considered for the apprenticeship for 2018 and I asked many questions which only confirmed that I would like to continue in the company. I am looking forward to the apprenticeship because I would love to become a part of Deloitte and I think the working environment is incredible and I could see myself as a tax consultant in the 10 years time.
