About You
Bank of America is a really demanding employer. I had to work a lot and even do stuff for people that I had never seen before. Nevertheless, this is what I expected and also like to a certain extend. Hence, I consider my internship at BoA as really valuable and would recommend it to everybody interested in banking.
I felt really valued at Bank of America. My team was friendly and always willing to help. Besides, I got to know that Accenture has a compeltely different approach to HR than most other firms. That’s probably also why average employee satisfaction is higher. Furthermore, my expertise and effort were astonishingly really valued.
During the insight, I received a lot of assiantance from other people in my workplace. Even people I did not know were immediately offering their help once I looked a bit lost. On the contrary, people even approached me once they realised what my strengths are. Also employees of higher rank were very open and communicative to me.
I developed a lot of interdisciplinary skills, such as human skills. These are really valuable not only for my career but in every situation in life. Obviously, I only have my friends’ report to compare my experience with but this aspect is definitely why I would recommend anybody to do this internship, even if you are not as interested in banking.
The Company
My internship was structured well. I was responsible for a fixed amount of projects at the same time and expectations were clear. Besides, there events for interns were organised on a regular basis. Even though, my work times were not fixed and I even had to do something for an MD on the weekend, the structure and organisation was top-notch.
"The internship at Bank of America was a great experience filled with friendly people. I completed a spring week at another company before this one and I can say that the atmosphere at the Spring Programme at BOA was hands down more pleasant. Senior managers took their time to network with us and graduate took their time to hang out with us and give us tips to get into the company. "
"The internship put great emphasis on self-development and after my few days I can definitely say that I have grown as an individual. I became more confident and worked on my soft skills which not only be helpful for my degree but also my personal life. The activities were specifically tailored to gain a great feel what it would be like to work at the company. "
It has helped me a lot to decide what I want to do later in my life. I was not sure if I want to go into marketing, accounting or finance. Hence I gave it a shot to try out what a career is like in the banking industry. Surprisingly I got the internship without much effort and I can envision a career at the company.
"The Insight Programme was very beneficial and showed me what it would be like to work there. The atmosphere was professional yet laid-back and everyone seemed to love what they are doing. Especially the chats with employees and managers were helpful to get a feel of what employees actually think about working at BOA. "
Everything Else
It goes without saying that you will get a feel of the culture of the company if you spend a few days there. The atmosphere is great, it has an open office, a gym and free ice cream. What do you want more? It was great to be part of the company even just for a few days and I liked it way more than working for a bank.
