The Role
My internship year was great, there was lots of opportunities within my work but also in extra curricular activities outwith my job role.
Within the site I worked in, I felt highly valued by my colleagues and employees would come to me with any queries or questions they had. Within my work team however, I did not feel valued at all by them as we were in different sites and none of the team made an effort to speak to me during the whole year.
My supervisor within my site was greatly supportive in everything I did throughout my year, including supporting time off I needed to complete university work. Again however, my direct line manager did not make any effort to speak to me throughout my whole year.
There were very few days where I was greatly busy and had no free time. If I did not get involved with extra activities outside my job role then I would have been very bored a lot of the time.
I was given a lot of responsibility in managing many mailboxes and programmes throughout my year.
A lot of what I learned I felt I could not relate back to my studies but that is just due to the modules I completed in university but regardless of this, I gained great networking and many other skills that are not taught in university.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was great, each employee was kind and welcoming! There was always something going on and always someone to talk to about lots of different things.
As the majority of my team were on a different site, I felt I didn't get the same structure in my internship as others such as presentations, goals and objectives for the year and appraisals.
Although my supervisor wanted to get me involved in a lot of opportunity, I felt there was sometimes lack of this due to money constraints within the company etc.

Working from home
I would love to come and work for this organisation again but in a different functional area and site, potentially even country!
The Culture
Yes, the group of interns at my site all got on so well and we worked together to help each other out whenever necessary, my experience would not have been the same without them.
As I lived at home during my internship I found it a lot easier than some, Glasgow can be quite an expensive place to live.
Great, always had good night outs with all employees.
Yes, many networking events and charity events.
