The Role
Here working in HPE Digital Safe I was not treated like intern but as a member of the team and was given my own jobs and projects once my training was completed
I was quite quickly invited to do things with my other team members and was helped when ever I had a question or needed to know something new.
My mangers were very helpful and allowed me the freedom of learning and guidance that was needed to be a functional member of the team
I was given a normal mount of work and did the stranded ours that all employees did.
As stated before I was given the same responsibility as the rest of the team and was expected to produce the same about of work and was expected to meet all the deadlines that where set for me.
Even though I do a software engineering degree I had not yet used links at Uni and was quite new to the concept but the training and experience I needed was surpliend to me and I now feel more confident it my skills.
The Company
Very friendly but with a good work ethic and very open to helping one another when we got stuck or where unsure about something.
Very well organised and I didn't feel like I was just sitting there doing nothing.
The invested as much as they would any other member of the team and supported my growth and development.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare/Dental
I have gained a lot of experience here and would defiantly be open to working here again
The Culture
I was the only student in the office where I worked but I am aware that there is a lot of events going on for more student based offices
Cambridge is very expensive so do expect to pay £500 - 700 in rent for a room in a house.
Think I saw a club once?? Also other things like movies and bowling in the area and more productive things to do then get wasted on a "NightLife"
Yes Cambridge is a very busy city and HPE surplied weekly things for us as a team to do like Go-Karting, Go ape and many more fun events.
