The Role
My placement was filled with invaluable opportunities to learn and provide value to the team. It was fulfilling for the year and the skills I learnt throughout will be valuable for my future, regardless of which career path I end up on.
The team that I worked with were exceptional at making sure I was contributing to the team and therefore to Pfizer. My responsibilities grew concurrently as my skills and confidence were developing.
Plenty of training was provided throughout. Plenty of formal training sessions especially at the start of the year, however, useful and insightful feedback was provided throughout my work. I felt comfortable asking for feedback and help where necessary and was always provided with a supportive hand where needed.
The work was project based and therefore came in "waves" of strict deadlines, with small periods of more relaxed work days. However, most of the year I was busy with work I felt was important, but never to busy to cope.
The responsibility curve was good. At the beginning of the year the level of responsibility was low. However, as the year progress the level of responsibilities quickly rose, but not in a way that you felt overwhelmed. My abilities were consistently tested and my confidence grew throughout the year also.
Without a doubt the most important skill I have grew during my placement here was my confidence, which will prove to be invaluable. However, many of the soft skills that I learnt throughout the year will be valuable in my final year and beyond.
The Company
Great culture within the team and within Pfizer as a whole. Relaxed, but professional and quality focused.
My team organised my placement brilliantly. It was not the first year they had placement students.
My team invested heavily in my training. Especially in my first few months many internal training sessions were run. From presentation training to visual sense making and much more. I felt like my team cared about the skills I developed and wanted to make sure I left a better employee/student/person than how I came in.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
There is a graduate scheme, not within my team, that is appealing.
The Culture
My team often organised nights out. In addition the culture with the interns promoted meeting up outside of work for activities.
Just outside of London. Some of the activities was expensive, but nothing to break the bank. The variety and options available easily made it all worthwhile.
Great. Just outside London
opportunities for volunteering etc. where plentiful
