The Role
It was good experience and a nice working environment however there was not much variation day to day.
Colleagues often asked how I was getting on and offered their help regularly.
Given support on how the business operates, was also advised on what I needed to do to become a chartered engineer and why I should consider becoming chartered.
Was often a struggle to get work despite asking lots of colleagues if they had anything for me so often found myself with not much work to do.
I wasn't given much responsibility as I was limited as to what I could do due to my lack of experience however I was given some responsibility in meeting deadlines.
Greater in depth knowledge into the industry gained and better understanding of the work that consultants do.
The Company
There was a good atmosphere and it was quite relaxed however at times it could be dull.
The placement wasn't very structured and could be improved in terms of having more of a regular workload. The induction into the company was well structured though as there were set tasks to be completed.
Some of my more senior colleagues spent time briefing me about projects and spent time organising work for me to do.
Sports and Social Club
There are appealing prospects with the company and would do another placement with them.
The Culture
Sometimes went for drinks after work but that was the extent of the social scene.
High cost of living however cheaper than London prices.
Didn't go out in the area I worked
Played golf with colleagues
