The Role
Throughout my whole time at Savills I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. Everyone within the office is welcoming and friendly and if I ever had any questions they were more than happy to help.
My colleagues kept me in the loop on all the projects I was involved in. Never did I feel I was a burden or they would rather I wasn't here. I was involved with client meets, planning appraisals as well as site visits which all made me feel valued and part of the team
My supervisor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was always happy to help both while in the office and out on the mobile. If I ever had any questions he was always happy to sit down and talk it over with me. Likewise management [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] were also happy to help and involved me where ever possible. The whole team were helpful and friendly.
There were always tasks for me to do throughout the day. When not working directly on a planning application I was updating information that would be helpful in the weeks to come. I never once felt snowed under but neither was I once bored.
Responsibility levels varied daily. I was set my tasks and it was my responsibility to complete those to a high standard and on time. Likewise within client and in house meetings I interacted were ever I felt necessary.
The knowledge and experience I have gained within these 4 weeks will help me greatly moving forwards into a full time position. It has enabled me to get a wide understanding of private consultancy planning and the issues and challenges that arise working for a nation property consultancy
The Company
Very professional but also friendly. Everyone worked very hard but didn't take it all too serious. The days were never boring.
Early on I could tell someone had thought this placement out very well, there were always tasks or meetings to attend. Very rarely did I feel it could have been organised better. Maybe involvement within more projects under different people within the team.
The training and exposure offered to me was brilliant, I was able to talk to experienced members of the team whenever I felt necessary and the tasks I was set will all help me in the years to come.
Very! I will be applying for a graduate role in the months to come.
The Culture
The other colleagues were all very friendly, the other recent graduates all answered my questions I had for them about what to expect in the future. Some real decent people, I felt I got on with everyone
I've lived in reading for the last 4 years and I thoroughly enjoy the socialising however yeah its not cheap
