About You
I really enjoyed my time at The savills summer scheme. I learnt a lot during the scheme and I will be able to take these skills into university and other work for the future. The team were very friendly and made me feel comfortable whilst I was in the office.
I felt very valued during the internship at Savills. I was given many responsibilities within the team everyday. Work I did helped other employees for their work and work produced was overall very interesting. Because the work was longer than most work experience jobs, I was accepted by the team and given lots of jobs.
I received a lot of guidance and support doing the internship with Savills. I was given responsibilities but these were always explained thoroughly if I didn't understand. Tasks were explained and if there was anything I was unsure with everyone was very approachable to ask for help.
The skills developed and information received will be invaluable for university and later on In working life as work experience helped to obtain the graduate jobs for the future. I am very happy for the opportunity and can relate things learn to university now and will be able to in the future.
The Company
The insight was very well structured as there were meetings to attend most weeks which gave an overview of the different aspects of the job. The graduate team were very organised and approachable if there were any problems that you had and everyone in the team were very approachable and easy to engage with.
There was a good atmosphere in the office during my insight. The team work very hard but were very positive and enthusiastic and never to busy to help me with any problems I may have during my time in the office. We went out for a team meal which was a nice way to get to know he team further.
I felt very valued during my time and was given may responsibilities which aided the team and took pressure off them in order to do other jobs so felt invested and useful. They gave a lot of advice of the next graduation process of the company and also meetings online that aid to gain more information regarding other aspects of the company and business.
As I was in the company for longer than a normal work experience duration I was utilised more and treated more respectively with more difficult important projects. I was with the same team for the month so got to know people within the company and the experience felt like full time job and I really enjoyed this.
The insight was very helpful to understand the company culture. Everyone is driven to help all clients and produce a high standard of work for clients but amongst the work everyone gets on very well and are very easy to talk to and approachable in situations or questions of work that I was unsure of.
The day to day jobs are very good and helpful in deciding what I want to do in the future as I became part of the team and got to experience day to day work. The only drawback was that I was only in one team for the 4 weeks and didn't get a chance to experience other aspects of other jobs.
Everything Else
I was paid and reimbursed for the internship. Whilst it covers living expenses, I am very grateful for the pay as I would have been taking part in work experience anyway as it is necessary to get a graduate job in the future. I really enjoyed my time and this was an added bonus whilst working at savills
there were few opportunities for networking as I was in a regional office and I think this would probably be more for London. I would have like to meet other interns and see what they were thinking of the programme and where they wanted to go in the future. They also had tours of London which would have been interesting.
We had few social and networking events but probably because I wasn't placed in London as I was in a regional office. We went out as a team for lunch however I believe this could enhance the placement as talking and meeting other interns would be really beneficial and talking to other parts of the industry
I have not heard of any activities to get involved with outside of work.
Yes I would highly recommend this insight to a friend are it is a great opportunity to get to experience into the working environment and to get to relate what is learnt at university into work life. I was given a good amount of work to do as I was here for a longer period of time and what I have learnt will help in interviews for the future.
