The Role
I enjoyed the tasks I got given, it allowed me to think and use my skills on analysis I have learnt from University. I also enjoyed the people, everyone was very friendly and easy to talk to.
I felt very valued, but felt I was the one reaching out more than them.
I was given a lot of guidance by my manager and y colleagues. I was also given names of people hwo coul dhelp me further with certain tasks.
I was not busy all the time, but I was quite a few times during the week.
I was not given as much at the start but throughout the year I was given a lot more and was given ownership to some pages and files.
I ave learnt a lot this year and the skills I have learnt will definitely be used in later jobs. Using Excel and pivot tables were the major skills I learnt,
The Company
The atmosphere was mainly the interns with a few sellers sat around as a lot of people worked from home. This was good as we got to learn about every area the others were in and hear from some of the sellers.
The organisation was not as great at the start as my manager didn't know what I should be doing. But later on it got better.
They gave me channels to use and had set up training sessions on a first come first serve basis which was good as we got to learn how to java script and other things too,
Sports and Social Club
Working from home
Very appealing.
The Culture
There was a good social scene with all the interns. We would all go to a local pub/bar after work near the station and then after a few drinks we would move onto a place across the river and some people would get up and join in with the karaoke on a Thursday. Annual events as well, such as Christmas party would be organised by a fellow intern who would then email details out and set everything up.
I lived at home and so my only cost was travel fees. Going on a night out would be a bit costly compared to being at university though.
Nightlife was good, weekly events would happen at the start of the year and then die down and then pick up after the new year. Everyone would have formed social groups by this point so they would do things within these groups.
Yes there was, I was part of the work social netball team and had weekly matches.
