About You
The insight was extremely enjoyable, there was a really good balance between informative presentations and great socials. I not only learnt an immense about the corporate world but I also made great friendships with others on the scheme. From going to Paris for the day to working through corporate cases - we were never bored.
The Graduate Recruitment Team went out of their way to look after us and ensure we enjoyed the scheme. Also, all the trainees and Associates I came across were genuinely interested in me and why I wanted to do law. We were made to feel extremely welcome.
Support was offered throughout the scheme - we had legal workshops, a public speaking workshop and multiple application skill workshops. In addition, we were allocated trainee buddies who answered all of our questions.
The skills I developed were extremely helpful, especially in terms of networking. I don't think the scheme will help with my degree, but will definitely be pivotal to my search for a career in law.
The Company
I can't stress how meticulously planned the insight was. We had a jam packed schedule ensuring we got the most out of our week. We had legal workshops but also plenty of opportunities to talk to lawyers, whether at breakfast, lunch or at the social. Every day was rewarding and exciting.
The atmosphere during the insight was consistently friendly and welcoming. I thought it might have been competitive but everyone I came across was not only friendly but supportive. The people I met at the firm went out of their way to make me feel welcome and I could not recommend it enough.
The firm invested so heavily in our own development - we had public speaking workshops and one to one career discussions. The whole week was tailored to make sure we had a great time.
We had the opportunity to spend a day working in a department with our trainee buddie. This was extremely beneficial as it allowed me to see what a day in the life of a Clifford Chance lawyer is.
The insight not only explained the company culture but actually proved it. The collaborative and friendly nature of everyone I met proved that CC collegiate culture is extremely strong.
Extremely. We had an anonymous question and answer with the Partner and Associate allowing me to get a clear and realistic idea of what a life in law firm was like. Their frankness was illuminating. In addition spending a day in a department and carrying out tasks gave me an idea of what a trainee does.
Everything Else
So many. Every free moment was filled by a networking opportunity - every meal, every social. I can't even count how many people I met.
Extremely enjoyable, we went to the Breakfast Club, Gaucho and the theater - we really had the opportunity to not only bond with employees but with one another.
Briefly through quick discussions with employees.
One hundred percent. The firm were so accommodating and I learnt an immense amount.
