The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my one month internship - it was an invaluable experience.
At all times, I was made to feel welcome in the team and was set tasks of worth to the company.
Questions were always welcomed and help and advice willingly provided.
I had a sufficient degree of work to complete on a daily basis. In addition, I was set projects that lasted for the entirety of the month so that if there was ever a quiet moment, I could get on with such.
I was set independent tasks which involved travelling around the city. I was also trusted to contribute towards reports sent out to clients.
I gained valuable life skills in terms of team work and communication. Moreover, I gained technical knowledge from the job which is likely to contribute to my future employment in the industry.
The Company
All staff were very friendly and welcoming, and invited me to various social events that I was able to attend with the team.
The scheme was highly organised, instruction was sent from central office and I regularly attended departmental overviews that were streamed live from London.
It was clear that the company wanted me to be a successful candidate for potential future employment - they advised me about graduate applications and looked after me as an individual.
Company Parties/Events
I would love to be employed at the company, but am aware that it is a competitive graduate scheme.
The Culture
Not so much with fellow placement students as there were not many interns in the regional office, however I was invited along to lunches and drinks with my team frequently.
I commuted into the regional office, but the pay from my internship more than covered my travel costs.
I did not attend a night out when I was on the internship.
I attended a couple of sports events whilst working there, and went for drinks with colleagues after work.
