The Role
I loved my placement at SAP. The work can be high pressured and stressful at times but the people are what make SAP so amazing. I absolutely loved working everyday with such amazing people who are truely the best at what they do.
My managers and collegues became my friends very very quickly. Everyone I worked with was supportive and cared deeply about my development and my personal and professional happiness.
My managers gave me the most incredible opportunities throughout the year.
I believe that you get out what you put in at SAP. I prefer to be busy all the time so got involved in other projects and my managers gave me great opportunities to go outside the realms of my day to day job. However my managers and collegues always made sure that I was always keeping a balance in my life.
The responsibility given to interns at SAP is unprecidented. Interns truely are at the heart of the company, in almost every meeting with higher management you can look around the room and see an intern participating in the meeting or producing the content that is shown. This is amount of responsibility gives you an amazing experience and incredible insight into the day to day workings of a lagre organisation.
I believe that it is the professional skills, training and development that I have gained through my placement at SAP that help me to succeed in the future. The connections I have made throughout the year have also helped me gain confidence and the network of incredibly supportive individuals I have met will stay with me for life not just my final year at university.
The Company
At times (Q end) the office can be stressful, however this is just part of working in a large high pressured organisation. I think that these times of stress have allowed me to grow as a person and I wouldn't have changed a thing. The majority of the time the office has many people who are laughing and happy to be in eachothers company.
The organisation of certain intern events (development events) could have been better as we only completed 1 out of 3 intern development days. I feel that if these would have been organised and aimed towards things that the group of interns required and wanted then the intern set up would be a 10/10.
All interns are given 3 intern development days. As I mentioned earlier we only had one of these this year. Although this was a dissapointment the managers and sales directors that I have worked with were extremely supportive and always willing to get me involved in other projects to help me develop other skills.

Some prospects are good - The Sales Academy. Although this is highly competitive. I would have love to have seen SAP set up a real and direct plan to convert top intern talent into graduate talent. I feel that once we leave it is only our connections within the company that help bring us back, as there is no scheme in place to help encourage interns to come back.
The Culture
YES! I was never stuck for something to do at a weekend! Everyone is so involving and welcoming I have had some of the funniest moments while out with colleagues/fellow interns.
London is expensive however as the office is near Heathrow you have some alternatives to allow for cheaper living. I think that if you wanted to live on a smaller budget it is completely do-able just as it is easy to be at the other end of the spectrum
Not great - however it is really easy and quick to get to Richmond or Central London.
I have taken part in endless opporunitites throughout the year. It is all about putting yourself forward for the different projects. I have personally taken part in 3 CSR campains/projects throughout the year as well as numerous away days/offsites.
