The Role
I enjoyed my time at Savills , the internship was well organised and the planning team that I worked with were very friendly. There was opportunity to get involved in several different projects including one piece of extensive research which I was able to take ownership of. There was also opportunity to participate in both site visits and social/networking events.
I was expected to work independently at my own desk like the rest of the team, however I was generally given a thorough briefing before I began a task and the task setter was always happy to answer questions as I went through.
The days varied in that some days I would do several short tasks and other days I would work on a longer task (often lasting several days) but there was always something to do. I never found myself under pressure and my team allowed me to work at my own pace.
The amount of responsibility was appropriate - everything I was given to work on was 'real' work i.e. constructive and relevant rather than given to me just to fill time but the work was never crucial.
The Company
Everyone in the office was friendly and sociable but hard working at the same time.
Very well organised: information was sent in advance of my start date , the team had prepared tasks for me from the first day and there were even (informal) mid and end of placement reviews to ask questions and receive feedback.
Company Parties/Events
The Culture
There was opportunity to go out with my colleagues to the local pubs/bars over some lunch times and one or two evenings after work.
