The Role
In a non-customer facing role, I enjoyed working in a great team that allowed me to grow and improve at a comfortable pace. Very supportive and helpful.
The group values employees through a variety of schemes. But management was also good at giving out praise where it was due and constructive criticism where necessary.
100% guidance through the steep learning curve at the start of the placement, they were very open to questions and were very focused on development.
There was always some work to do. Our team runs daily jobs that take up and hour every morning. And then we would be completing ad-hoc jobs and towards the end we were very busy completing a project that was going all the way up to the directors.
I was given freedom to take control of anything that was within my ability. I was allowed a lot of independent work when I became comfortable with the role.
I took time away from my course to take this role and it doesn't directly feed into my studies but the soft skills I gained this year are worth a lot for my final year.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly
First few weeks a recent a mad rush to get you comfortable with everything going on. After that there is a clear structure to daily and weekly work, to help you get the job done.
Plenty of investment for training and courses.
Working from home
Very interested in coming back in a years time.
The Culture
We all got a long and did hang out occasionally.
Very cheap in Halifax.
Not exception, best to go out in Leeds
Lunch 5aside football. And other evening activities, depends on your social circle.
