About You
Very well structured and scheduled - there were plenty of events that were prepared to give the interns as much industry exposure as they could within a short period of time.
My team was a relatively quiet one - and there were no social sessions after work within my team. Therefore there was less bonding time between colleagues and the jobs that are allocated to me are the basic tasks. To be fair, there is barely enough time for interns to take part in big projects.
Each intern is allocated a mentor within the team, which greatly helped in the transition as well as provided solid guidance throughout.
Industry insight was extremely useful, and the exposure to different teams and specializations of various functions within the company was eye- opening. This internship also prepares me to be professionally competent in the industry.
The Company
Couldn't give more credit to the Graduate Recruitment Team for organizing excellent activities and arrangements that were scheduled in every step of the way since the beginning.
Surprisingly quiet - but it largely depends on the team that has been allocated to.
They truly make interns feel valued and that they are there to gear graduates towards high achievements.
A very good extent, albeit the time being very short. A month would be sufficient to know if you would enjoy having a full time role at Savills.
A month in and speaking to people from various departments has given me a really good idea of company culture.
Very valuable in the sense that you get to explore your options before stepping on our career path.
Everything Else
There was payment and reimbursement for all expenses and time.
Plenty
Refreshments and drinks were provided and the people that the company arranges to have these sessions are extremely valuable, such as meeting the fee earners.
Yes, there are plenty of sporting activities and social events with employees or agents of other companies. After all, real estate is a people's industry but in this aspect, there is very much of a social-work life balance. Friendly competition between companies are encouraged in areas outside of the company as well.
10/10 will recommend, an opportunity to intern with one of the world's leading property services provider will be the best experience that not only helps with personal development but also establishing precious networks.
