The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed placement. My team was really helpful and approachable and the events and workshops put on by Cushman and Wakefield were good. These events were really useful networking tools in a relaxed environment. Also, the presentation workshop was very helpful.
I always had tasks to do and it was always ensured that I knew how to undertake them. I was often checked on by my buddy who always ensured that I was comfortable and had enough work to be getting on with. I also was checked on by other members of the team throughout the placement and setting and reviewing goals was a good incentive to achieve.
very supportive and helpful colleagues who I felt I could always ask for help if required. At the beginning of the placement, I set goals with my supervisor. this meant that I had something to strive for throughout the placement. I achieved my goals in my final review meeting and I think this was due to the support and guidance from the team.
A good balance. I think there was a maximum of 2 days where I had little to do but that was not anyone's fault that was simply because the department was quiet. Usually, I was always doing work which I felt was important. I was told that my work would be used in reports that would be shown to clients so it was exciting for me to be a part of this.
I didn't feel too pressured as all my work was checked by my supervisors. I was still given important tasks to undertake. I was given enough tasks in order to learn new and useful skills from my placement. It is my hope that these skills will be applicable in the future to my degree.
I learned a lot of useful skills which will definitely be relevant for my future studies. I also felt that I now better understand things that I had previously learned about in university. It goes to show how different the theory can be to the real thing.
The Company
It was a nice atmosphere in the office. It was sometimes slightly quiet which I actually enjoyed due to the fact that it meant that I could concentrate better. It was quiet but you didn't feel as though you couldn't speak to people. A nice atmosphere with good interaction between departments.
Very well organized. Excellent induction days and intern orientation workshops. Everything was planned and official and you felt as though you were welcomed seamlessly in to the company. A very smooth process much better than any other placement experiences I have had. It made a difference to the placement and made settling in that bit easier.
I learned a lot of new valuble skills.
Company Parties/Events
I worked my hardest at this placement and my superiors seemed happy with the work that I did. I like to think I would fit in well with the company and would certainly apply for a job here again in the future. I liked the look of their grad scheme and the department, I already know, are very friendly.
The Culture
Yes, there were lots of other interns all of whom were very friendly. We had lots of networking events and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone. The orientation days were a very good way to get to know one another and it was a good experience.
Quite expensive as it is London but nothing I didn't expect and it doesn't stop you from socializing.
Not bad. there were a couple of pubs next to the office in the city but often we would meet up with other interns in the west end office as there were better places to go for people our age group there.
a few but not that many in my department.
