The Role
I enjoyed my placement because of the perks - free London accommodation, having lunches and drinks paid for - more so than the content of the work
I do not feel like my colleagues knew what I was working on or doing and that I could easily be idle
Less so. Hands off approach forced me to find out things by myself but would've benefitted from more basic guidance considering this was my first proper job and I didn't know basic things like using the phone or email. It would've given me more confidence to seek more work.
Not very busy - the tasks I was given could easily be dragged out over time but not really high pressure deadline
not much - never owned anything but merely helped with others, didn't feel as if what I was doing was important
I think it will help me for my confidence in my next placement
The Company
Relaxed (Digital office), young people, get on with people around me, often chatting
varied from intern to intern so obviously no system - I felt like work experience students were far better set up. I wasn't given introductions to everything one on one but in groups
online training but was dull and forced
Company Parties/Events
Appealing - their grad scheme offer Masters and if I had longer time to bond with my team I feel I would be valued more I believe I could get a job through lloyds
The Culture
intern culture was brilliant! loved living with fellow interns and having lunch with the people in my office. the colleague culture was good too -pub trips often (almost too much because I was too tired to go meaning I missed out on valuable bonding and mingling time)
A lot! But less worried because of the free accomodation
London nightlife not as good as I expected but still good
not really
