The Role
I have really enjoyed my internship so far
I feel valued as my colleagues do not treat me as a burden but are really welcome to answer any questions I may have or tell me about what they do
My line manager would support me during this role and provide me with information about the business as well as organise key deliverables to work on. While I would need to go a get the information myself, that is part of what one should do therefore, I am not taking that into account when answering this question.
It is not a schedule packed job, I am allowed flexibility to complete my work
While I would have liked more responsibility, I did not work on any ongoing projects. Instead I would have some bits and pieces to complete due to the time scale that I joined the company.
I feel like I have improved my communication skills, especially when speaking to senior managers. I have increased my general awareness of what it is working for a big company like and what a daily corporate role in my business area might look like. It will assist me in my degree by understanding process and value these, especially when it comes to big organisations. It will make me more employable having understood what it means to be proactive, be able to time manage and general soft skills.
The Company
Very welcoming and friendly. Everyone is very approachable and I have not encountered anyone that is rude or uninterested so far. Most people are willing to get involved with charity work and I have not felt that colleagues would "mind there own business" if they felt that that specific question is not part of their job scope While I enjoy the environment, I think that my office is a bit too quiet for me, but that is just personal preference.
I believe it to be quite well organised. While it does not have a clear mark as to what I would be working on since this depends a lot with what project crops up, the HR support holds webinars every 2/3 weeks to ensure we are all ok with what is going on and allows us to ask questions. Our line manager closely oversees that I have work to do and it is up to me if I want to schedule in a call or two with different people as well as organising shadow days or doing charity work for our charity partner.
Monetary wise, they have invested a lot in me and every intern I live with. They care and prioritise our learning and development above anything else and really support us in that. In my first 4 weeks in the business, I had been to Glasgow, London and Birmingham for work and will be going to Edinburgh for a day. We have mandatory online training to do in our own time and always are encouraged to email people when in need as they will be more than willing to help.

I would definitely consider a job here

As the team of interns here is quite small, we are all quite close. However, you cannot meet that many people as a result.
