The Role
I really enjoyed my placement and I would definitely recommend to everyone to do a placement.
The team accepted me straight away & i got on really well with all my colleagues.
I had constant support from my supervisor and manager if i needed any help they were there, and they also encouraged me to take on more work to increase my knowledge of the company.
I was busy every single day, there was alwasy something that needed doing & i was never bored!
In my time with DePuy I worked with a wide variety of people from different departments, I got involved with a variety of product launches, and worked with different contacts from different countries all over the world.
Working in such a big international company has given me chance to get involved and put all the theory I learnt at university into practice, I gained a wide and valuable range of skills that will help me for the rest of my life.I would recommend a placement to every student - without the experience I have gained from my placement at DePuy, I would not have gone into my final year with such confidence and determination to finish my degree. I have learnt much more than I imagined and it has boosted my confidence in both my skills and abilities.
The Company
The atmosphere was always good in the office except for when people were busy, it always seemed quieter.
The placement was set up really well, even thought it tooke me 3 months to learn everything I had different training documents & support to help my learning throughout the placement.
I had the opportunity to develop my Access database skills as the company invested in an offsite access course for me which was very beneficial.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would love a job with DePuy when i finish my degree.
The Culture
Yes, the student placements met regularly in and out of work throughout the placement year.
Quite expensive if you cant go out on a student night through the week.
Leeds is a brilliant night out.
There are many different places to go and things to see in Leeds
