    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement. I feel I have been placed in an area that really suits me. I appreciate it takes time for colleagues to show me what they do and teach me how to do the work but I feel people were willing to help most if the time.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • There were times when I feel I wasn't invited to some of the events but if I asked to join I was always welcome to. My team were generally really lovely and inclusive though.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a weekly catch up and I could always bug people with questions however you do need to be a bit mindful sometimes that your colleagues are super busy.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • After doing the training necessary which was universally considered a bit boring, I never run out of things to do. I always had a variety on my to do list and my supervisor always asked me it there is anything more I would like to know about, do or get out of this internship.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I did work with data which I don't think is available to many people and I did have good pieces of work to do however I didn't always feel like what I was working on was extremely important.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I definitely learn more about teamwork, resilience and time management. I feel these skills are invaluable since they can be applied in any situation. The professionalism and knowledge gained will definitely stay with me and help me in future professional settings.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • We had a variety really. Sometimes it was quiet, sometimes we had a few chats but generally it was really friendly. We had team members from different cities joining us at times, we had talks and events to attend. All in all a good atmosphere.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The organisation was definitely there. I feel that compared to other interns I was able to have an easier transition and get into my work much quicker. Regular catch ups and a variety of work really contributed to my pleseant experience.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I have attended a course, talks, calls and learnt a lot. All resources were available if I wanted to learn more about any topic really. I was quite pleased to see the importance LBG place on personal development despite the busy schedules.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I really liked my job and I feel is was well suited for me. I would love to come here again however I am also keeping my options open and wish to explore different things.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I did not live with the other interns as I was one of the few to commute. That being said I still joined many social events with them as well as having lunch together almost every day.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As everywhere else, it depends where you go and what you get but there were many affordable places around the work place.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife was great. I was placed in Leeds and really that speaks for itself. Many places to go and there is something for everyone.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was part of Helping Britain Prosper challenge and we did a lot of volunteering however they were all in the branch and we didn't get out much.

    2/5
