The Role
So far, the internship has been very valuable. I have had my first experience of working 9-5 in a big company for a sustained period of time and have been given serious work to complete, which I was not expecting.
All of my colleagues have been very friendly and made me feel very welcomed throughout.
My line manager is there whenever I need him or assistance in general. Everyone is happy to help.
I've been busy. Some days more than others due to the availability of data for the project I was working on but most of the time I was busy.
I have been given quite a lot of responsibility. We are dealing with important work, which we must make sure is up to a good standard and correct.
It will certainly benefit when I come into work and should help my university studies by opening more doors because of the experience.
The Company
Good atmosphere, everyone is friendly and can ask them whenever I got confused.
Yes, it was very organised. My 10 week plan told me exactly what I would be doing each week so myself, my team and line manager could know.
The scholars scheme in general is an investment from Lloyds but we have completed a professional bankers course and had to do the online training.
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I have enjoyed it so far and working here in the future is something that I am definitely considering.
The Culture
Very good. Everybody in the Leeds and Halifax offices are living in flats together (student halls). There is around 30 of us in total and we are all quite close and go out for nights out in our free time.
Travel on the train each day cost around £25 a week with a railcard. Accommodation was provided so that helped. Living in any city centre is always going to be expensive but there is lots to do in the area but it is pricey.
In Leeds, the nightlife, bars and clubs are great. Very good social scene
Our charity challenge helped this in our teams but if you wanted to do this, it could be found.
